Rev. Kimi Yokoyama is originally from Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated with a M.Div. from Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri in 2006, and was ordained in June of 2006 at Community Christian Church in Kansas City. Kimi came to Zion United Church of Christ after serving on the ministerial staff at Community Christian. She has also served local churches in various staff positions.
Kimi also has degrees in Music and Art History from the University of Delaware and has worked in Health Care and Retirement Living as an Activities Director and assistant, and in business. As a musician she has sung with professional groups and companies on the east coast and in Kansas City, and has served churches as minister of music, choir director, and soloist/core singer for many years.
Kimi is passionate about justice for all people and is very grateful to the people of Zion United Church of Christ for calling her to be pastor.
